Happy For Music

( Here's a poem a wrote in 2003. You can tell that I got bit by the "music bug" early on in my life)

I am happy when music is around,
Oh this tune, is a wonderful sound.
Maybe if I were to finish that song,
My dad and I could get back to playing ping- pong.

I love the 30's through 70's songs better than today,
Also Billy Joel & Scott Joplin music even though I can't play.
If only they were back again,
I could see what the Beatles were like then.


Oh what a great thing that would be,
To see how to dance the "Lindy"
I'd show people to do that,
Even if they think it's not better than playing with an old bat.

Old music, old music, I love your days,
I wish I knew more about your ways.
You always make my spirit rise,
Whenever I get a new one it's always a big surprise.

Sure I get them rarely,
But it happens very sincerely.
I wish it that kids had taste like me,
And like music how it used to be.
I hope this tells all of you
What music I'm in to.
